Goal Safety Check
Before any soccer activity takes place on the field, visually inspect all soccer goals to ensure they are properly secured. If you find a goal that is not securely anchored, do not use the area and keep all players away from the goal.
Even if you arrive for a game and the previous game has just ended, you are still responsible for checking both goals on your field. Always treat each field as if you are the first one using it for the day.
What to Check For:
- Anchors: Ensure the rear posts are securely anchored to the ground using spikes, augers, cables, or chains.
- Goal Structure: Inspect the posts (crossbar, vertical uprights, and rear legs/sides) for any loose or unstable components or potential hazards.
What to Do if You Find an Unsecured Goal:
1. Inform the opposing Head Coach and the Referee immediately.
2. Contact your Division Coordinator to report the issue.
3. Do not proceed with the game or practice until the goal is properly secured.
- If the goal cannot be secured, the game will be canceled for safety reasons.
4. The division coordinator will notify the appropriate personnel to address the issue promptly.
Safety is our top priority. Thank you for your attention and cooperation in ensuring a safe environment for all players, coaches, and spectators.
